Moving to Downtown Los Angeles? Here’s Everything You Need to Know

When most people think of Los Angeles, they think of movie stars and skyscrapers. While you can certainly find both in downtown LA, residents and frequent visitors know that downtown LA has much more to offer. From beautiful, historic architecture to lush green spaces, Downtown LA has it all.

If you’re considering a move to downtown LA and want to know more about what to expect, we’ve put together a guide that covers everything you need to know about downtown LA.

Weather in Downtown LA

Did you know that downtown LA hasn’t recorded a temperature below 32 degrees since 1979? That’s right: It hasn’t been below freezing in well over 40 years! If you’re trying to avoid the cold, downtown LA definitely fits the bill. However, hot weather is a very common occurrence in downtown LA. The months of June through October see high temperatures in the 90s and 100s very regularly. Luckily, the rest of the year is very mild, with temperatures in a comfortable range from the mid-60s to mid-70s.

Because of the large number of buildings and asphalt in downtown LA, daytime temperatures can be several degrees warmer than the surrounding areas. At night, that heat radiates from the city and can raise temperatures even more. This might be nice on a breezy evening but could make it a bit more uncomfortable during the day.
